The Alps offer various different landscapes and architecture. From classic more than 100 years old chalets to outstanding modern architecture.

Our alpine locations stood in for Antarctica, Norway, Himalaya, Canada and various other places already in our backyard.

Our biggest bonus is the perfect infrastructure in terms of streets or cable cars. We can approach eternal ice by car or truck and offer spectacular mountain views by only a short cable car ride or even directly from the road. Especially the touristic infrastructure of Tirol offers the possibility to reach great locations.

Skidownhillrace Hahnenkamm Documentary by Gerald Salmina

Seppi Dabringer, immer einer der ersten am Berg

The most spectacular downhill skirace in the world. The Hahnenkammrace or the so called Streif is the event, where the whole world looks to the location Kitzbühel in the tyrolean Alps. Gerald Salmina a passionate skier and director of Mount St. Elias and countless documentaries took up the challenge to produce and direct a documentary about the legendary race. 12 alpine movable cameramen, sound engineers, journalists etc had to be found. it was like a meeting of good old friends. looking forward to seeing this movie!

Channel 4 Trailer for the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sotchi

Shooting with incredibly motivated and enjoying actors is the greatest fun you can enjoy on a filmset. Shooting for Channel 4's promotional clip for the broadcasting of the Paralympic games in Sochi 2014 turned out to be a great experience for the whole crew.

Weather, perfect snow conditions and a great working crew led to a great film. If you wonder, how the moving shots behind skier and snowboarder were produced - that was Bezi Freinademetz skiing with an Alexa in his hand and Daniel following with remote follow focus. Was hard to follow sitskier Sean Rose as he is a cracy xgames participating guy, who never brakes too much ... great fun!

During the shoot i took this setfoto, which was liked by channel 4 and BBC so it was used as the background for their studio in Sochi and in the reception in London. i like my Foto camera with the big sensor... and i love the view in the alps, especially in the soft evening light in winter!

Aus dieser Szene resultierte das Foto, das die Sendungen von channel 4 aus Sochi im Hintergrund zeigte.

Bei dieser Szene soll Schnee derart von einem Ast schmelzen, dass der Sportler vorbeifährt und in der nach hinten erfolgten Schärfenverlagerung ein Tropfen zu Boden fällt. Eine Aufgabe für unser SFX team. wunderschön geworden...

While the location Recce he learned some new tricks of transporting himself on snow, i think he enjoyed this at the most. he said, that was my funniest Recce ever...

Mithilfe der Bergführer Andi und Patrick konnte Sean zu seinem Start in den unberührten Pulverhang gelangen. Sean war so happy, dass er untracked powder unter seinem Ski hatte, sehr schön!

Danke dem Locationbesitzer, der alles für uns ermöglichte, was wir benötigten. und das war nicht wenig. eine Eishalle, die wir untertags verdunkeln durften, mit unserem eigenen Licht versehen und mit Nebel füllen. die Bilder schauen grossartig aus.

Vredestein Winter Tires - February 2014

Shooting on alpine roads in the winter is a challenge itself. During scouting one has to mention places where one can use snowchains etc. our producer Frits from the Netherlands turned the shoot injto a great experience, as it was a pleasure to learn from his experience. it always helps when hero cars have great tires on them, and Vredestein tires are definitely amongst the best tires for winter roads. From Locationscouting to shooting we experienced great winterly and sunny weather in the alps.
